Khan Academy provides online educational resources for people of all ages, available in over 40 languages worldwide, free to access via smartphones, tablets or laptops. Its mission is “to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.” Yes, we ‘Khan’! It now offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personal learning dashboard to monitor one’s learning progress. It was the first of hundreds of Khan Academy videos that have helped me throughout my years in secondary school. It was a miracle! Finally, someone explained balancing equations in simple English and I could completely understand it by the time I got to the seven-minute mark! I typed, “balancing chemical equations” in the search bar, and a 14-minute video of the same name popped up within seconds. My most memorable one being balancing chemical equations – a rudimentary concept students taking Chemistry should know by the first month of starting the subject.Īfter multiple failed attempts to understand this concept, I resorted to YouTube.
Like any secondary school student, I had faced many challenges in my academics.
